THE CHANNEL ISLAND OF ALDERNEY

Home to a population of around 2000 people, Alderney is an undiscovered gem, with many sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters.
The sea around Alderney can be both alluring and treacherous – with some of the strongest tidal races in the world.
Unspoilt by pollution, these waters provide the perfect place to harvest the seawater we use to create our award winning Alderney Island Sea Salt.

how our sea salt is made

We start by surveying the best areas for harvesting our seawater – this can vary due to many influences, including times, tides and seasons.
Once collected, our water is triple filtered and reduced to a strong brine . This is then placed into our evaporation trays for crystallisation followed by gentle drying, grading and packaging.

THE BENEFITS OF ALDERNEY ISLAND SEA SAlT

Ordinary table salt is highly refined, with any trace mineral elements removed and anti -caking agents added.
Alderney Island Sea Salt, in common with other sea salts, retains these natural elements, including Magnesium and Potassium, both of which are necessary for a healthy, balanced diet.
Our salt is regularly tested and analysed to ensure we maintain our consistent high standards.
